Seismic Database and Data Processing Department

The aim of Seismic Monitoring Center Database and Data Processing service is a 24-hour monitoring of seismic processes.

Immediate action in case of a major earthquake – in the event of a major earthquake, determining the epicenter of the earthquake quickly and with maximum precision; provision of people and corresponding bodies with extremely accurate information;
Constant updating of seismic data catalog – on the basis of the Institute of Earth Sciences, the web database of international standards, with the earthquake data having been detected by digital and similar seismic stations, was created. Precisely through this base, seismic data catalog is constantly updated, with the real-time earthquake data being added and used for scientific and commercial purposes afterwards.
Archiving similar data – grouping seismograms and bulletins for the purposes of creating their electrical versions and attaching them to the web data.

• Providing students with employment – night and day shift groups within the department is annually restructured; within the group are employed students meeting the required criteria.
