By the support of the joint project of Institute of Earth Sciences and UC Davis, geological field work was organized to study the regional geologic and tectonic settings. The field work lasted for one month and covered Georgian territory including Upper Svaneti, Samegrelo, Kazbegi, Aragvi valley and Kakheti. Structural geological, tectonic and geomorphic studies included rock and soil sampling for 14C, 26Al, 10Be as well.
