We are delighted to announce the upcoming conference in Tbilisi, Georgia: “From Science to Safety: Meeting Engineering Needs with Earth Science”. It is scheduled to take place from October 1st to 3rd, 2024. This conference aims to unite specialists in geology, geophysics, seismology and engineering, fostering knowledge exchange between the research community and the private sector.
This conference is sponsored by the Science and Technology Center in the Ukraine (STCU) and the Shota Rustaveli National Scientific Foundation of Georgia. Their support promotes scientific and technical collaboration in the region, with a focus on the development and application of advanced methodologies in scientific research.
In light of the unpredictable nature of earthquakes, the conference will underscore the importance of properly evaluating seismic hazard and vulnerabilities. These evaluations are rooted in geological, geophysical, and seismological data, forming a significant scientific basis for national seismic risk reduction policies. The seismic hazard assessment relies on geological, geophysical, and seismological data, and the proper evaluation of these aspects contributes to ensuring the seismic safety and security of our communities.
We look forward to your participation in this conference and we firmly believe that your expertise and insights are invaluable in the pursuit of our collective goal of achieving seismic safety and mitigating the risks associated with seismic events. Kindly mark your calendar for this conference in October 2024 at a breathtaking setting in the Caucasus.
